Volume is the measurement of cubic liters your surfboard displaces when put into the water.

Think of volume like buoyancy or paddle power – and you cannot surf until you catch and stand up on a wave. On the flip side, the more volume your board has, the higher in the water it will sit which will make maneuverability more difficult.
